“Follow the Star” technique when providing your answers
SITUATION Provide an overview of the situation you were in, why it had come about, and who was involved.
TACTICS The range of possible responses you considered, what you thought, or felt.
ACTION The action you decided on and took. What you did and said.
RESPONSE What you achieved.
You will be asked to expand on your abilities relative to the competencies critical to the position applied for.
YOU MUST …
- Focus on your own involvement or contribution to the situation
- Describe what you did, not what you generally would do
- Focus on what you thought or felt at the time.
